Feliz Molina, MFA, MSW, ACSW
I am a first-generation Asian American psychotherapist and writer born and raised in Los Angeles. I studied and practiced mindfulness and meditation in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition while majoring in Writing & Literature and Religious Studies at Naropa University. During my undergraduate studies, I studied with meditation teachers in Sikkim, India, and continue to practice mindfulness and meditation. After my undergraduate work, I received a fellowship to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Literary Arts at Brown University and a scholarship to pursue a Master of Social Work at the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice.
At the University of Chicago I studied under William Borden, completed a clinical casework internship at Heartland Alliance Human Care Services where I worked with families, and completed a psychotherapy internship at Thrive Counseling Center where I worked with a diverse population of teens and adults. For both internships, I treated clients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, relational trauma, racial trauma, eating disorders, and addictive behaviors.
Since returning to Los Angeles, I have worked with diverse populations as a clinical social worker at Step Up On Second in Hollywood where I provided Telehealth and in-person crisis care services to my clients in a Housing First program during the Covid-19 pandemic. Thereafter, I worked at The Hills Treatment Center in Laurel Canyon using trauma informed therapy to treat clients with addictive behaviors and trauma where I provided individual, family, and group therapy and psycho-education.
Using an intersectional framework and collaborative approach is integral to my therapeutic process. I perform client-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and psychodynamic therapy that involves Acceptance Commitment Therapy, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, expressive arts/narrative therapy, psychoanalytic, and mindfulness practices.
In addition to my work as a psychotherapist, I am the author of several books of poetry and prose, and my work has been published in various anthologies and literary journals. You can see my work at https://felizluciamolina.com
