Welcome!
Katherine Young, MA, AMFT
My name is Kathy and I’m an associate marriage and family therapist. While I have always been intrigued by relationships, psychology, and helping people, this is a second career for me and proof that it is never too late to become the person you want to be. The journey of building a family has given me an interest in racial trauma, infertility issues, maternal mental health, and special needs parenting. My cat has made me a believer in the power of pet therapy. Other areas I am passionate about working with are developmental trauma and spiritual abuse. I love working with young adults, couples and anyone who is ready to turn a new leaf in their life and make sense of their story.
Are you struggling to engage in meaningful relationships? Do you find yourself overthinking comments and situations? If you feel you are on a hamster wheel trying to effectively communicate your true wants and needs with those you are closest to, you are not alone. What would your life look like if you could express yourself fully and not get stuck living for everyone but yourself? How would your experience be different if you didn’t feel like you had to hide your true self?
I specialize in attachment theory and client-centered therapy, and have experience leading clients from the trauma in their past that holds them back from finding fulfilling relationships today. I am also trained in EMDR therapy which is an evidenced-based method for facilitating the processing of traumatic memories. If you feel like you are ready to make a change, reach out and schedule a free, 15-miunute consultation call with me. Whether you come with your family, partner or just yourself, change is within your reach!
